Government welcomes the pledge made by the Business Unity South Africa (BUSA) to support the implementation of the National Development Plan (NDP). The NDP, which was embraced by Parliament and endorsed by Cabinet, is the country’s 30-year growth and development framework to bolster the economy and address unemployment, poverty and inequality.

Acting GCIS CEO, Phumla Williams, said “A high degree of collaboration between business and government is needed for the NDP’s success. The pledge by BUSA is a step in the right direction to realizing Vision 2030. Government alone cannot achieve this vision, and calls on all sectors of society to support its implementation, as it is the responsibility of all South Africans.  This is the country’s blueprint, and not only government’s initiative.  All citizens should embrace Vision 2030 and work together to grow our economy and improve the lives of South Africans.”

Government urges every citizen to familiarize themselves with the National Development Plan’s vision and objectives. More information on the NDP can be accessed on the National Planning Commission’s website:   http://www.npconline.co.za/
