South Africa is hosting the 3rd African Union Men’s Conference on positive masculinity in leadership to end violence against women and girl’s .The Government Communication and Information System is pleased to announce that media accreditation is now open for the upcoming African Union Men's Conference scheduled to take place from 27 to 28 November 2023 in Pretoria.
The Men’s conference will provide an opportunity to consolidate the bold efforts that the Heads Of State and other sectors have taken towards Ending Violence Against Women and Girls on the continent including accountability for the implementation of the Kinshasa Declaration and the decisions made at the 2023 February Heads of State and Government Conference, to negotiate an AU Convention on Ending Violence Against Women and Girls. Once adopted, it will be the first continental legal instrument to prevent and eliminate Violence against Women and Girls.
Media accreditation application process
Media representatives interested in covering the African Union Men's Conference are invited to apply for accreditation. Accreditation provides access to conference sessions, press briefings, and exclusive interviews with key speakers and participants.
To apply for media accreditation, please receive the link: https://mrs.gcis.gov.za/3rd-mens-conference to complete the online accreditation form. The closing date for submission is Monday, 20 November 2023 at 16:00. Late submissions will not be considered.
Collection of accreditation cards will be subject to the presentation of a valid ID/Passport and a press card or letter of assignment from the editor. Journalists using passports as identification should note that passports should be valid for at least 30 days beyond the expected date of arrival in South Africa. At least two pages must be unused when the passport is presented for endorsement. Successful applicants will be notified via email by along with details regarding accreditation badge collection and other relevant information.
