Ministry in the Presidency to conduct the State of the Nation Address (SONA) Pre-Awareness Outreach Campaign in the Western Cape

Government Communication and Information and System (GCIS) will be conducting Pre-SoNA outreach activities, led by Minister Mondli Gungubele and Deputy Ministers, Pinky Kekana and Thembi Siweya from 07 – 10 February 2022 in the Western Cape.

The outreach programme is a build-up to the State of the Nation Address (SoNA) which is scheduled to take place on Thursday, 10 February 2022 at 19:00. SoNA is a key national event where the sitting President of South Africa advises the nation on the government programme for the year and reflects on the progress made with regards to the commitments of the previous year’s address.

Members of the media are invited to join the outreach programme as follows:

Day Three: Wednesday, 09 February 2022
Venue: Delft Police Station and surrounding areas, Cape Town Metropolitan Municipality
Time: 09:00 to 15:00

To interaction with Delft and Symphony community, raising awareness of SoNA 2022 and Census 2022 amongst other campaigns in the environment.

Day Four: Thursday, 10 February 2022
Venue: Nyanga Bus Terminus, Cape Town Metropolitan Municipality
Time: 07:00 to 09:00

To interaction with Nyanga Commuters, raising awareness of SoNA 2022 and Census 2022 amongst other campaigns in the environment.

Government calls on all citizens to follow SoNA discussions through all appropriate platforms and continue to vaccinate while adhering to all COVID-19 protocols under level 1 in terms of the Risk Adjusted approach of Government at all times.
