Government Communications hosts activities to commemorate 30 Years of Freedom and Democracy: 27 to 28 Mar

The Government Communication and Information System (GCIS), in partnership with the Apartheid Museum and Gibela Rail Consortium, will host activities to commemorate the 30 Years of Freedom and Democracy on 27 and 28th March 2025 in Gauteng province.

A youth dialogue will be held under the theme "Youth and Economy” in partnership with the Apartheid Museum to solicit the views of young people from the Southern region of Gauteng on how they can participate in economic opportunities.

Government welcomes employment growth in the final quarter of 2024

Government welcomes the growth in employment in the fourth quarter of 2024, as reported in the latest quarterly employment statistics survey released by Statistics South Africa (Stats SA). According to the Stats SA report, employment increased by 12,000 jobs, bringing the total number of employed persons in the formal non-agricultural sector to 10.64 million by December 2024. This marks a modest but significant 0.1% increase compared to the previous quarter.

State Security Agency dismisses claims of the so-called Operation Sibonkolo

The SSA does not normally comment on media reports. However, the diversionary tactics being applied through the allegations of the so-called Operation Sibonkolo goes against the progress being made to transform the Agency as recommended by the High Level Review Panel. These tactics seek to paint the SSA as an agency stuck in a rouge mode.
