Members of the media are invited to the launch of the book: The Media Landscape 2014: Celebrating 20 Years of South Africa’s Media

The book contains chapters from various media experts including William Bird, Shaka Sisulu, Reg Rumney and Professor Tawana Kupe, who discuss the changes that have taken place in the media sector since 1994, and provide a vision for the future.   It aims to stimulate debate around current issues impacting the media environment in South Africa.

South Africa to host WEF Africa 2015: 3-5 Jun

It’s all systems go for the 25th World Economic Forum meeting on Africa (WEF Africa) taking place from 3 to 5 June 2015 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre under the theme: “Then and Now: Reimagining Africa’s Future.”

This year’s meeting is expected to be attended by more than 1 000 leaders from business, politics, academics, civil society and international and local media.

Government media briefings for of 1–7 June 2015

On Monday, 01 June 2015 at 09h00, The Financial Fiscal Commission (FFC) will table its annual submission for the division of revenue in parliament on 29 May 2015. The FFC will brief the media on the annual submission for the division of revenue 2016/2017. The briefing will be held at Imbizo Media Centre, Cape Town, with a link up to Tshedimosetso House (GCIS), Pretoria.

1.1. Cabinet would like to thank all South Africans who participated in the Africa Day 2015 celebrations, which reflected our commitment to build a united, peaceful and prosperous Africa.

1.2. Cabinet reiterates the call by President Jacob Zuma to all South African institutions and companies to fly the African Union (AU) flag with the South African flag. This is in keeping with the need to embrace the vision of a united, prosperous and peaceful Africa.
