Government will celebrate the University of Fort Hare Centenary on 20th May at Alice in the Eastern Cape. The celebration will acknowledge the role the university has played in educating Africans. It will celebrate the values and traditions that made the university to be Africa’s most respected institution of higher learning.

Government also acknowledges that since 1994 one of the most significant achievements in the Higher Education sector has been to create a unified education system.
