Postponement of Deputy President Motlanthe's media briefing on the Gauteng Freeway Improvement Project: 31 May

Members of the media are hereby advised that the Deputy President's media briefing initially scheduled for Thursday, 24 May 2012 has been postponed.

The Deputy President's media briefing which will focus on the Gauteng Freeway Improvement Project, following an update report to Cabinet by the Inter-Ministerial Committee which he chairs will now take place as follows:

1.1 Condolences

Cabinet expressed its condolences to the family of the late Minister of Public Service and Administration, Mr. Radhakrishana Lutchmana (Roy) Padayachee. It noted that a memorial service will be held in his honour on Thursday, 17 May, 2012, 11:00am at Pretoria City Hall, Visagie Street, Pretoria.

Official funeral of late former Minister of COGTA, Mr Sicelo Shiceka: 12 May

The Official Funeral of the late former Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Mr Sicelo Shiceka will take place on Saturday, 12 May 2012 at Standard Bank Arena in Johannesburg. 

The proceedings will start at 09h00 until 11h00.  Minister Shiceka  will be buried at Westpark Cemetery, Corner Beyers Naude and West Park Road in Montgomery Park, Johannesburg.
