Press accreditation for the 17th Conference of Parties (COP17/CMP7) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) opened yesterday, Thursday, 6 October 2011 through to Wednesday, 16 November 2011.
The UNFCCC COP17 / CMP7 will take place in Durban from 28 November to 09 December 2011.
Accreditation will be granted upon presentation of valid press credentials in accordance with the United Nations requirements.

Cabinet has been concerned about the state of financial management and governance in certain provinces for some time. Cabinet has received reports on trends in provincial under spending, overspending and challenges with supply chain management.
The three provinces affected in varying degrees are Limpopo, Free State and Gauteng, the synopsis is as follows

Cabinet noted the President’s upcoming two-leg visit to the Arabian/Persian Gulf Region, including the United Arab Emirates and Oman from 12 to 16 November 2011. South Africa’s relations with the Gulf are primarily of an economic nature and are focussed on increasing trade and investment.
