Media logistical arrangements for the Jobs Summit

Members of the media who have applied to cover the Jobs Summit are advised that the accreditation centre will continue operating tomorrow before the formal proceedings from 08:00am till 12:00 at Gallagher Convention Centre, Hall 1- Office 2. Identity Document (ID, Passport or Driver’s License) and press card or letter from the editor will be required for collection of the accreditation.

Government welcomes Springs monster sentencing

3 October 2018

Government welcomes the sentences handed to the so-called Springs monster and his estranged wife in the North Gauteng High Court today.

The father was found guilty of the attempted murder of his son, child abuse and neglect, using and dealing in drugs and of the rape of his then 16-year-old daughter.

He was sentenced to an effective 35 years imprisonment while the wife received a suspended sentence.

Inter-Ministerial Committee on State Funerals updates on arrangements for memorial and funeral of the late Minister Edna Molewa

Government continues to forge ahead in mobilizing society to assist victims of gender based violence. GCIS recently conducted an inspection of 57 Thuthuzela Care Centres across the nine provinces to conduct a needs analysis per center   and identify how corporates and civil society can better equip them with basic provisions such as sanitary wear and toys for children.

The Inter-Ministerial Committee (IMC) on State Funerals, led by Minister in the Presidency, Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, met on Monday, 24 September 2018, to discuss arrangements for the Memorial and Funeral Services for the late Minister of Environmental Affairs, Edna Molewa, who passed on in the morning on Saturday, 22 September 2018 at the age of 61.
