Government congratulates South Africa’s first deaf Law graduate

Government sends warm congratulations to Eastern Cape-born Qobo Ningiza who will be South Africa’s first deaf law graduate when he graduates with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree at the University of Cape Town today.

“Ningiza is an inspiration to many of us and serves as proof that if as individuals we focus on our abilities instead of focusing on the obstacles, we can achieve anything in life.

Government condemns use of fake information to fuel tensions

The recent acts of criminality that resulted in the displacement of foreign nationals in KZN and Limpopo and harm to some is regrettable. Such acts should be strongly condemned by all peace loving South Africans. This is certainly not how we should be viewed as a country, as these incidents are criminal in nature and have been hijacked by people who fuelled the tensions through fake news on social media.

Government activities for the week, 1 to 7 Apr

From 1 – 2 April, the Minister of Communications, Ms Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams, will lead a DTT, Cyber Security Awareness and Good Green Deeds clean-up campaign in Mthatha, Eastern Cape.

Chief Electoral Officer, Mr Sy Mamabolo will on Monday, 1 April, formally launch an innovative online reporting platform for citizens to report instances of alleged digital disinformation. The launch will take place at the Election House, Riverside Office Park in Centurion at 12h00.
