1.1. Cabinet reiterates President Jacob Zuma’s call for all sectors of society to work together to support the economy and save jobs in the current tough economic environment.

The pact between government, mining houses and labour unions demonstrates the commitment across all sectors to save jobs and reduce the impact of job losses.

The Minister of Communications, Ms Faith Muthambi will on Sunday, 13 September 2015 launch the Annual Thusong Service Centre Week in Kwazulu-Natal, Dududu Thusong Service Centre. The Minister will be accompanied by Vulamehlo Local Municipality, Cllr T. Dube and Ugu District Municipality, Cllr NH Gumede.

Government welcomes birth of African Independent

Government welcomes the launch of the African Independent, a new weekly newspaper that will focus on changing the Africa narrative.

Acting Cabinet Spokesperson Phumla Williams said the launch of the new publication signals the importance of telling an African story from an African perspective as opposed the continent being portrayed negatively.
