Minister of Communications to attend International Development Cooperation meeting on Gender and Media in Geneva, Switzerland: 7-10 Dec

Minister of Communications Ms Faith Muthambi will attend the International Development Cooperation meeting on Gender and Media from the 7th to 10th December 2015 in Geneva, Switzerland. The Minister will also give an opening statement and chair panel discussions on issues of gender and media at the conference.

Road safety continues to be an issue of concern to Government

As the country approaches the festive season, road safety continues to be an issue of concern to government. Many lives are continuously lost as a result of road accidents.

The recently reported tragic accident on the R18 near Vereeniging where 19 people reportedly died is just one very unfortunate example. 

Acting Cabinet Spokesperson, Phumla Williams said: “Transport Month may have passed, however, the message of government for road users to exercise extreme caution lives on.

The Presidential Handbook is made public

Cabinet has today made public the Presidential Handbook as approved in the Cabinet meeting of 18 November 2015. The release of the Presidential Handbook is also in terms of the commitment given to Judge Sutherland on 12 October 2015 to publish the Handbook before 30 November 2015.

The Presidential Handbook provides guidelines for the administrative, logistical, security and general support services to be rendered by the state to the President, his or her spouse and dependent children, and the Deputy President and his or her spouse.

1.1. Cabinet commends the progress made by the Department of Human Settlements in the Savanna City Integrated Human Settlements project in the Sedibeng District Municipality.
Completion of the sustainable and integrated, new town development project, in ten years, will provide 18 399 Integrated housing units which include “Breaking New Ground Houses” and bonded houses, educational facilities, clinics, crèches, churches and retail sites
