Pahad to hold Imbizo in Sekhukhune: 12 April

Minister in The Presidency Dr Essop Pahad, accompanied by Limpopo Premier Sello Moloto and Provincial MEC’s, will interact with the community of Jane Furse in Limpopo as part of the Government Imbizo Week.

Under the theme ‘All hands on deck for faster development’, the Minister will give feedback to the community on the progress made in terms of addressing the needs of the community, as expressed during President Thabo Mbeki's visit in 2005.

Government will hold cluster media briefings on the implementation of the Government Programme of Action for 2008, in Cape Town from 5 to 9 May 2008.

This will be the first cycle of media briefings for the year since the announcement of the programme through the State of the Nation Address.

Government to issue statement on refugee camps: 29 May


28 May 2008

Government has noted with concern media reports that Cabinet has taken a decision to establish refugee camps. Government wish to put it on the record that Cabinet has not taken such a decision and that the reports are baseless and therefore not true.

An announcement on the government’s position will be made at the Post-Cabinet media briefing tomorrow.
