Government on media accreditation for fourth South Africa Investment Conference (SAIC)

South Africa will host its fourth South Africa Investment Conference (SAIC) on 24 March 2022 at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg. The conference is part of our investment drive to attract R1.2 trillion over five years. The SAIC attracts delegates from South Africa and worldwide to discuss investment opportunities. Since the first investment conference in 2018, South Africa has attracted R770 billion in commitments across a wide range of economic sectors.

Following the delivery of the State of the Nation Address (SoNA) by President Ramaphosa on 10 February 2022, the Government Communication and Information System (GCIS) and the National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) will host a Twitter Space for the youth to reflect on the contents of the SoNA.

President Ramaphosa to deliver the State of the Nation Address

President Cyril Ramaphosa will tomorrow evening, 10 February 2022, deliver the State of the Nation Address to a Joint Sitting of Parliament and the nation at 19:00. 

The address will take place in a hybrid form from the Cape Town City Hall following the damage by fire to Parliament on Sunday, 02 January 2022.

Minister Gungubele to join Stats SA in counting transient population on Census Night

 

Minister in The Presidency, Mondli Gungubele will join the Statistics South Africa (Stats SA) team in Cape Town on Census Night to enumerate the transient population as Census 2022 kicks off.  

Stats SA will be counting the transient population at various sites across the Province on Tuesday, 02 February 2022 as part of the nationwide Census Night activities marking the beginning of the Census 2022 count.

Cabinet approves changes to adjusted alert level 1 COVID-19 regulations

A special Cabinet meeting held today, 31 January 2022, has approved changes to the Adjusted Alert Level 1 COVID-19 regulations. This follows meetings of the National Coronavirus Command Council (NCCC) and the President’s Coordinating Council (PCC) which received updates on the management of COVID-19 in South Africa.
