In our post Cabinet media briefing earlier today, we announced that Cabinet had appointed Ms Jennifer Schreiner as a Non-executive member to the Board of Control of the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (PRASA). In making this assertion, we relied on an outdated Cabinet Memo which has since been updated.
The updated Memo lists Ms Nosizwe Nokwe-Macamo as part of the collective appointed to the Board.

Government joins the media industry in commemorating and celebrating the Media Freedom Day. The day was commonly referred as Black Wednesday following the banning of a number of newspapers and arresting of their respective Editors as they were exposing the atrocities of the Apartheid regime.

Government is saddened by the passing away of Dr Vuyokazi Mahlati and extends its heartfelt condolence to her family, friends and colleagues. She was the chairwoman of the Advisory Panel on Land Reform and Agriculture.

Justice, Crime Prevention and Security Cluster Ministers will on Tuesday 13 October 2020, visit Paul Roux in the Free State Province.
Minister of Police, General Bheki Cele together with Minister of State Security, Ms. Ayanda Dlodlo, visit the family of slain farm manager Brendan Horner.
The two Ministers will also meet various organized farming structures as an attempt to quell the simmering tensions following the court appearance of the two suspects charged with the murder of the 21 year old farm manager.

The South African government joins the media fraternity and South Africans in general in expressing its deep sadness following the passing away of Dumisane Lubisi who worked as the executive editor for the City Press newspaper.
The GCIS experienced Dumisane as a professional journalist, who was committed to ensuring that a plurality of voices found expression in the City Press alongside his colleagues.
“Our hearts go to their families, friends and media colleagues,” said GCIS Director General Phumla Williams.
