The Government Communication and Information System (GCIS) will host a Post SoNA webinar on the Poultry Master Plan. During his State of the Nation Address, President Cyril Ramaphosa said that “through the implementation of the Poultry Master Plan, the industry has invested R800 million to upgrade production”.

With 5 days to go before the closing date, South African media are invited to submit their entries for the 2021 SADC Media Awards competition.
The Awards were established following a decision by the Council of Ministers in 1996 to establish a sector that deals with matters relating to amongst others, information, culture and sport. These awards serve as part of ensuring a link, coordination and synchronisation between formal structures of SADC governments, civil society, academia, labour and the media.

Following the State of the Nation Address (SONA) delivered by President Ramaphosa on the 11th February 2021, the Government Communication and Information System (GCIS) is hosting a Youth Imbizo webinar. The purpose of the webinar is to create a platform for the youth to engage on the contents of the SONA and reflect on how it relates to them as the future of South Africa.
The webinar will feature youth panellists from business, media and government.

Government received the first batch of the Johnson and Johnson vaccine last night at the O.R Tambo International Airport. President Cyril Ramaphosa, Health Minister Dr. Zweli Mkhize and Deputy Minister Dr. Joe Phaahla as well as the healthcare workers will be vaccinated this afternoon at Khayelitsha District Hospital in the Western Cape Province.

Africa is due to receive the first delivery of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine tonight at the O R Tambo International Airport in Gauteng. The vaccine has been approved by South African Health Products Authority. The consignment will be moved to a secure facility in Gauteng before being distributed overnight to the various vaccine centres in all provinces.

Government would like to advise the public about details pertaining to the Special Official Funeral of the late Justice Khayelihle Kenneth Mthiyane. Justice Mthiyane passed on Thursday, 28 January 2021. Following his passing, President Ramaphosa has honoured him by designating his funeral as a Special Official Funeral, Category 2.
