1. National State of Disaster
1.1. The South African Government responded to the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) global pandemic by declaring the National State of Disaster in March 2020, in terms of the Disaster Management Act, 2002 (Act 57 of 2002). This facilitated an integrated and coordinated response to save lives and livelihoods.

The Government Communication and Information System in partnership with the South African Depression and Anxiety Group will on the Wednesday, 16th of March 2022, host a webinar on Destigmatizing Men’s Mental Health. Experts, Psychiatrist Dr. Fran Korb and Clinical Psychologist Zamo Mbele will be unpacking the topic of Men’s Mental Health. Guest speaker, Chris Debraine will share his own personal account of living with mental illness as a male.

President Cyril Ramaphosa led the first Presidential Imbizo of the 6th administration to the North West Province on Saturday, 12 March 2022. The Imbizo was guided by the District Development Model which sees all spheres of government and social partners working together to bring sustained development and growth in an integrated manner in communities.

Members of the media are advised that government Ministers and MECs will host a series of activities ahead of the Presidential Imbizo scheduled to take place in Mahikeng, North West on Saturday, 12 March 2022.
The activities include a session between the Minister in Presidency, Mondli Gungubele and Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (CoGTA), Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma and the North West Provincial Executive led by Premier, Bushy Maape.

South Africa will host its fourth South Africa Investment Conference (SAIC) on 24 March 2022 at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg. The conference is part of our investment drive to attract R1.2 trillion over five years. The SAIC attracts delegates from South Africa and worldwide to discuss investment opportunities. Since the first investment conference in 2018, South Africa has attracted R770 billion in commitments across a wide range of economic sectors.
