From 1 – 2 April, the Minister of Communications, Ms Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams, will lead a DTT, Cyber Security Awareness and Good Green Deeds clean-up campaign in Mthatha, Eastern Cape.

Chief Electoral Officer, Mr Sy Mamabolo will on Monday, 1 April, formally launch an innovative online reporting platform for citizens to report instances of alleged digital disinformation. The launch will take place at the Election House, Riverside Office Park in Centurion at 12h00.

1.1. Cabinet welcomes the second-phase expansion of the Dube Trade Port Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in KwaZulu-Natal. The R18-billion investment brings an additional 45 hectares of industrial space into the SEZ. It will serve as the foundation to attract an estimated R20 billion in investment over the next five years.

Government calls on South Africans to promote indigenous languages to commemorate Human Rights Day

This year, the national Human Rights Day celebrated annually on the 21st of March will draw attention to the critical importance of indigenous languages and emphasise the urgent need to preserve, revitalise and promote indigenous languages. The day will be observed under the theme “The Year of Indigenous Languages: Promoting and Deepening a Human Rights Culture”.

Government will host a national commemoration event of Human Rights Day on Thursday, 21 March 2019 at Sharpeville, Vereeniging, in the Gauteng Province.

Government leaders from all three spheres of government which includes Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Premiers, MECs and senior government officials will tomorrow, 08 March 2019 embark on the clean-up campaign as part of the Good Green Deeds programme.

This ground-breaking national initiative that seeks to change people’s attitudes and behaviours towards responsible management of waste will be officially launched tomorrow by President Cyril Ramaphosa tomorrow at Mdantsane in the Eastern Cape.
