The South African media are invited to submit their entries for the 2019 SADC Media Awards competition.
Government has scheduled the following briefings/activities for the week: 10 – 16 December 2018. The activities, which are aligned to the National Development Plan and outlined in the Medium Term Strategic Framework 2014-2019, are undertaken to build a better South Africa.

On Saturday, 08 December 2018, government will host the Special Official Funeral service of the late Mr Mendi Msimang.
The Inter-Ministerial Committee (IMC) on State Funerals under the leadership of Dr Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma met today to discuss arrangements for the Special Official Funeral of Mr Mendi Msimang who passed away on Monday, 03 December 2018.
Mr Msimang was a struggle stalwart and a former High Commissioner to the United Kingdom.

Government calls on all South Africans, international communities and civil society to play their part in recognizing and emulating the values of the first democratic President of South Africa , Nelson Mandela, as the country commemorates the fifth anniversary of his passing on 5 December 2013.
Government Communication and Information System (GCIS) will host the SADC Media Awards workshop on Friday to officially launch the 2019 competition.
The awards aim to recognize excellence in journalism in the area of print, photojournalism, television and radio as well as to encourage media practitioners in member states to cover issues pertaining to the region for the promotion of regional integration and cooperation.

The Inter-Ministerial Task Team (IMTT) under the Chairpersonship of the Minister in The Presidency for Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation, Dr Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, met together with the Premier, members of the North West EXCO, and Administrators on Friday, 23 November in Pretoria, to assess the work that has been done to implement the North West Intervention since its inception.
