Government welcomes the Western Cape High Court’s sentencing of axe murderer Henri Van Breda for the 2015 murder of his parents and brother, and seriously injuring his sister. He received three life sentences, 15 years for the attempted murder of his sister, Marli and 12 months for obstructing justice.

Government is outraged by the sexual abuse that a nine month-old baby underwent, as reported in the media. Government will not tolerate any form of violence and abuse against our children and has classified this element of criminality as a high priority. Government calls on law enforcement agencies to take strong action against those responsible for the gross violation of an innocent baby.
The Minister of Communications, Ms Nomvula Mokonyane is pleased to announce the media developments of South Africa’s hosting of the 10th Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa (BRICS) Summit to be hosted at the Sandton International Convention Centre from 25-27 July 2018.
