Government is delighted with the Khayelitsha Magistrate’s Court ruling and sentencing of Mlulani Gagu who was found guilty of raping seven girls over a period of two years. Gagu has been sentenced to three life terms in prison.

Following a recommendation of the Inter-Ministerial Committee on the Gauteng Freeway Improvement Project (GFIP), led by Deputy President Kgalema Motlanthe, Cabinet at its meeting on Wednesday 24 October 2012, decided that the South African National Roads Agency Limited (Sanral) should proceed with the implementation of the e-tolling system.

Cabinet has extended its well wishes to the class of 2012 matrics as they commenced with final examinations today.
The 2012 matric examinations will end on 28 November.
It is this time of the year that pupils need the full support of the society as they get tested to become future leaders and role-players in communities.

Government condemns in strongest terms possible the heinous killing of police officers in the Western Cape. Four police officers have been killed in the province since the beginning of this month. It is with shock and sadness that these kind of tragic incidents are happening in this city.
Any attack and killing of police officers will not be tolerated. The law enforcement agencies will leave no stone unturned in ensuring that these perpetrators are brought to book and face the full might of the law.
