The engagement, hosted under the theme: “Moving from toxic masculinity to positive masculinity”, seeks to highlight the role that the culture of toxic masculinity has in perpetuating Gender-Based Violence and Femicide (GBVF).

The year’s Local Government Elections mark the 21st anniversary since the establishment of a democratic local government system in our country. It will also be the sixth time under South Africa's democratic dispensation that voters will elect leadership and public representatives at metropolitan, district and local level.

The South African Cabinet extends its well-wishes to the Class of 2021 as they commenced today with the National Senior Certificate examinations. A total of 735 677 full-time and 162 109 part-time candidates are writing their matric exams this year, which extend over six weeks from 27 October to 7 December 2021.
