Government on celebrating Human Rights Day

The National Human Rights Day celebrated annually on 21 March, is a day that is set aside for the nation to commemorate and reflect on the sacrifices that accompanied the Struggle for the attainment of democracy in South Africa. The demise of apartheid ushered in a new constitutional order that acknowledges and guarantees the Human Rights of all those who belong and live in South Africa.

Government activities for 19 to 25 Mar

Government has scheduled the following briefings/activities for the week of 19 - 25 March 2018. The activities, which are aligned to the National Development Plan and outlined in the Medium Term Strategic Framework 2014-2019, are undertaken to build a better South Africa.

The National Water Week 2018 will be held from 19 to 25 March. The campaign seeks to continue building on the ongoing awareness to ensure the integrity of our water resources and its efficient use within the broader South African community.

The Minister in the Presidency Responsible for Women, Ms Bathabile Dlamini will be leading a government delegation to the 2018 UN Commission for the Status of Women. The 62nd Session of the Commission will take place at the United Nations Headquarters in New York from 12 to 23 March.
