Implementation of Government Programmes

1.1. The quarterly outcomes progress reports were presented to Cabinet for the period 1 July to 30 September 2016. These reports monitor the implementation of Government’s Programme of Action in line with the provisions of the Medium Term Strategic Framework and the National Development Plan.

1.2. Respective Cluster Ministers, through the GCIS, will coordinate cluster media briefings to present departmental milestones reached in the period, later this month.

South Africans to rally behind national teams ahead of super Saturday

South Africans can expect a bumper line-up of national sporting events tomorrow as the Springboks, Proteas and Bafana Bafana, tackle their opponents head on.

Tomorrow, the Springboks will play against England at Twickenham; Bafana Bafana will go head to head with Senegal in a World-Cup qualifier match in Polokwane; and the Proteas will take on Australia in the second Test in Hobart.

Government sends condolences to families of flood victims

Government is deeply saddened and sends condolences to the family and friends of people who were killed in incidents resulting from yesterday’s heavy rains and floods. The downpour that battered some parts of the Gauteng province left a trail of destruction, as reported in the media, with many cars being swept away in the floods and some homes being flooded.
