The Imbizo Focus Week, 7-13 November 2016 is held under the theme “Together we move South Africa forward: “Our future – make it work“. The core priorities of the NDP are to reduce poverty, unemployment and inequality. The implementation levers of the NDP encompass amongst others education, economic growth and employment, skills development, infrastructure, rural development, and social protection.

Imbizo Focus Week Calendar for Planning Purposes

Members of the media are advised that government is currently hosting a series of engagements as part of the National Imbizo Focus Week starting from the 7th to the 13th of November 2016.  These are aligned to the implementation of National Development Plan (NDP) vision 2030 with specific focus on some of the key areas of progress and achievements. The NDP is currently driven by 14 key Outcomes all of which are part of the Medium Term Strategic Framework 2014 - 2019.

Justice, Crime Prevention and Security Cluster holds report back Imbizo programme in Nyanga, 9 Nov

The Justice, Crime Prevention and Security Cluster (JCPS) will embark on an Imbizo programme to report back to the community of Nyanga in the Western Cape Province.

The Community Imbizo will be led by Minister of Justice and Correctional Services, Michael Masutha, Minister of Home Affairs, Malusi Gigaba, Deputy Minister of Police Maggie Sotyu as well as the Deputy Minister of Justice and Correctional Services, Thabang Makwetla.

The visit will be undertaken under the National Imbizo Focus Week theme “Together we move South Africa forward: “Our future – make it work“.

Government’s fifth National Imbizo Focus Week, 7-13 November 2016 opened today, following the theme “Together we move South Africa forward: “Our future – make it work“. All South Africans are encouraged to actively participate in the Imbizo events and engage with government. An informed and active citizenry is critical towards delivering the National Development Plan (NDP) Vision 2030. The NDP serves as a blueprint for the work that needs to be done to achieve a prosperous society for our country.
