Cabinet approves several changes to the Adjusted Alert Level 1 COVID-19 regulations

A special Cabinet meeting held earlier today, 30 December 2021, has approved several changes to the Adjusted Alert Level 1 COVID-19 regulations.
This follows meetings of the National Coronavirus Command Council (NCCC) and the President’s Coordinating Council (PCC), which received updates on the management of the current 4th wave of COVID-19 in South Africa, which is mainly driven by the Omicron variant.

Government wishes to update members of the media on the arrangements in place to cover the Special Official Funeral of the Anglican Archbishop, Emeritus Desmond Tutu. Archbishop Tutu passed away on Sunday, 26 December 2021, aged 90 after a long illness. He will be laid to rest on Saturday, 01 January 2022 at his former parish St George’s Cathedral, Cape Town.

Government wishes to inform media on the details of media accreditation for the funeral service of the late Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Mpilo Tutu.
Archbishop Tutu passed away on Sunday, 26 December 2021, aged 90 after a long illness. He will be laid to rest on Saturday, 01 January 2022 at his former parish St George’s Cathedral, Cape Town.
As declared by President Cyril Ramaphosa, South Africa will embark on a week of mourning leading up to the day of the funeral.

Speaking of her appointment to the Commonwealth Equality Network, GCIS Director General, Phumla Williams, said: “Letsike is a well-known human rights human rights advocate, and government wishes her well in her endeavors to bring about positive change and correct injustices.”
